The modified market cap-weighted index tracks the performance of the largest and most liquid companies in the global steel segment. Its unique pure-play approach requires that companies have to generate at least 50% of their revenues from steel trading, from mining and procession of iron ore and from crude steel products (like steel pipes and steel tubes). The MVIS Global Steel Index (MVSLX) covers at least 90% of the investable universe. Most demanding size and liquidity screenings are applied to potential index components to ensure investability.
