Lamaque Mine to Host Researchers Studying the Use of Tailings in Reclamation
BLAINE, WASHINGTON -- (Marketwire) -- 05/02/11 -- Century Mining Corporation ('Century' or the 'Company') (TSX VENTURE: CMM) is pleased to announce that the Company has been notified by the Quebec Ministry of Durable Development, Environment and Parks ('MDDEP') of approval by the MDDEP of the Certificate of Authorization('C of A') for the operation of the Lamaque mine in Val d'Or, Quebec at a rate of 2,500 tonnes per day and dewatering of the mine down to 1,200 feet below the surface, including the Bedard Dyke, North Wall and Lamaque mining areas. In the course of the MDDEP's review of the C of A application, mine management has coordinated with MDDEP staff to develop restoration plans incorporating the use of tailings as covering material for the open pit waste dumps and to respond to the MDDEP's concerns regarding this evolving technological application.
