$250,000 Flow-Through Private Placement Announced for proposed drilling at West Gore Antimony-Gold Project, Nova Scotia

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - December 21, 2012 - GREAT ATLANTIC RESOURCES CORP. (TSXV.GR) is pleased to announce that it has negotiated a non-brokered private placement of up to 2,500,000 units at a price of $0.10 per unit in the capital stock for total gross proceeds of up to $250,000. Proceeds from this placement will assist the Company in advancing the West Gore Antimony and Gold property in Nova Scotia through diamond drilling with to help establish a 43-101 compliant resource.

It was announced last week that the Beaver Brook Antimony mine in Nova Scotia will be shutting down, due to ore depletion and are now exploring the immediate area for new Antimony sources to feed the mill. Great Atlantic's West Gore and Beaver Brook properties are adjacent to this mine and plans are underway to explore the West Gore Antimony Gold Project which has past production and drilling in the 1980's on un-mined veins. Great Atlantic is currently addressing this potential in bringing all the previous work into a resource category and in addressing new yet untested Antimony Gold targets.

The private placement units will consist of one common share and one share purchase warrant. Each share purchase warrant will entitle the holder thereof to purchase one additional common share of the Company at a price of $0.12 per share for a period of twelve months from the closing date of the private placement. Closing of this placement is conditional upon approval of the TSX Venture Exchange. A finder's fee of up to 8% may be payable.
