Dr. Flint brings 30 years of experience as a professional engineer, which includes extensive experience in the graphite mining and processing sectors. His areas of expertise encompass mineral processing, equipment selection, risk analysis, project management and property evaluation. He has been closely involved in the testing and supervision of graphite separation and purification including graphite suitable for "salt," exfoliated graphite, graphite sheet, and the creation of ultra-pure graphite for batteries and graphene. Throughout his career he has been involved in the development of specialized applications and processes including the design of column flotation cells for mining and environmental applications, mineral processing circuit design, installation and commissioning (Cominco-Tech, Quinto, Crystal Graphite Corp (CGC) and many others). He has conducted extensive research into flotation physics and developed and commercialized numerous innovations in equipment and processes used in the extraction and processing of graphite as well as many other substances.
His career history includes employment as a Consulting Engineer (May 2010 - Present), Technical Advisor, Innovacorp, (June 2011 - Present), Processing Engineer, Mount Cameron Minerals, (July 2010 - May 2012), Engineering Consultant, The Graphene Corp. (November 2007 - present), and is currently consulting for graphite companies in China, Sri Lanka, Namibia, Zambia and Malawi. Dr. Flint taught mineral processing in the Civil and Mineral Resource Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Dalhousie University (January 2000 to June 2010), Design Engineer - Cominco Engineering Services Ltd. (CESL) (1997-1998), Company Metallurgist, Corporate Planner and Director - Crystal Graphite Corporation (1993 - 1997), Owner, Coastal Separation Systems (1992-1998), Metallurgical Engineer - Cominco Engineering Services Ltd. (CESL) (1989 - 1993) and also as an Engineer at INCO Ltd., Coppercliff (Ontario) and Falconbridge as well as an Exploration Geologist.
Dr. Flint received a Ph.D., Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering, UBC (2001), M.A.Sc., Metallurgical Engineering, University of Toronto (1989), B.A.Sc., Geological Engineering, University of Toronto (1986) and a B.Sc., Biology, University of Toronto (1983) and has enjoyed holding a number of current and past board positions on a variety of academic, corporate, society and government boards.
