Sama Resources Appoints Marcel Aubut and Richard Quesnel Directors and Corporate Update

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/05/13 -- Sama Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE: SME) ("Sama" or the "Company"). Mr. Benoit La Salle, FCPA, FCA, Chairman of the Board of Sama, is pleased to announce that, effective June 3, 2013, Messrs. Marcel Aubut and Richard Quesnel have joined the Company's Board of Directors.

Mr. Aubut, O.C., O.Q., Q.C., Ad. E., is a senior partner with Heenan Blaikie LLP and has been a corporate lawyer for more than 30 years. Renowned for his involvement in professional hockey, Mr. Aubut was President, CEO and co-owner of the Quebec Nordiques. Mr. Aubut was re-elected President of the Canadian Olympic Committee for a second 4-year term in April 2013. He is the founding President of Quebec Metro High Tech Park. Mr. Aubut has been involved with numerous companies and boards including, among others, Atomic Energy of Canada, Olymel L.P. (Olybro), AEterna Zentaris Inc., Boralex Power Income Fund, Whole Foods Market Canada, Hydro-Quebec (Executive Committee), Purolator Courier Ltd., Tremblant Resort, Cinar Inc., Investors Group Inc., Transforce Inc., Intra Continental Insurers Ltd., Boreal Assurances Agricoles Inc., Entreprises Premier CDN Ltee, Les Industries Amisco Ltee, Donohue Matane Inc., Innovatech Quebec, Textile Dionne. Mr. Aubut is also Chairman of the Board and a director of Century Iron Mines Corporation. He has also presided over the establishment of numerous industrial projects in the greater region of Quebec City. Mr. Aubut received the Medal of the National Assembly of Quebec in 1981 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1986. In the same year, he became a Member of the Order of Canada and was elevated to the rank of Officer in 1993. In 2012, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Mr. Quesnel is a senior technical advisor and a professional Engineer. He served for over 5 years as President and CEO of Consolidated Thompson Iron Mines of Montreal. Mr. Quesnel has over 32 years of senior mine management and engineering experience at large gold, copper, nickel and iron ore properties in Canada and the Western USA. He successfully developed, commissioned, operated and expanded mining operations which include Consolidated Thompson's Bloom Lake iron ore mine, Quebec Cartier's Mount Wright iron ore mine, Gibraltar's copper-molybdenum mine in British Columbia, Barrick Gold's Meikle mine in Nevada and Montcalm's nickel mine in Ontario. Mr. Quesnel obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from McGill University. He is also a director of Colt Resources Inc.

Corporate Update

The Company also announces that, pursuant to its Stock Option Plan and subject to regulatory acceptance, it has granted an aggregate total of 1,400,000 incentive stock options to certain directors, officers, employees and consultants, subject to certain vesting provisions. These options will be exercisable at a price of $0.22 per common share and will expire on June 3, 2018.
