Stephen Lang Joins Allied Nevada's Board of Directors
RENO, NEVADA--(Marketwired - Aug 6, 2013) - Allied Nevada Gold Corp. ("Allied Nevada" or the "Company") (TSX:ANV)(NYSE MKT:ANV) is pleased to announce that Stephen A. Lang has joined the Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. Lang is a Mining Engineer with over 30 years of experience in operations and project development worldwide. He has managed a number of large operations, including Newmont Gold Corporation's Twin Creeks Mine and Barrick Gold Corp.'s Goldstrike Mine, both located in Nevada.

Mr. Lang holds a Master of Science in Mining Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla. He has held a number of senior executive positions for companies such as Centerra Gold Inc., Stillwater Mining Company, Barrick Gold Corp. and Rio Algom Limited. He is currently Chairman of Centerra Gold Inc.
