San Gold Receives Revised Environment Act Licence
WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(Marketwired - Sep 4, 2013) - San Gold Corp. (TSX:SGR)(OTCQX:SGRCF) today announced it has received a revised Environment Act Licence from Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship. The revised Environment Act Licence No. 2628 RR permits the ongoing enhancement of the tailings management area which will provide the Company with a minimum of 10 years of tailings management capacity at current operating rates.
The Company initiated the application process approximately two years ago through Manitoba Conservation and Water Stewardship and the Mines Branch of Manitoba Innovation, Energy and Mines. As part of the process, the Company engaged extensively with various parties including Hollow Water First Nation and the community of Bissett to help area residents understand the scope and nature of the proposed revisions.
"We are pleased to have the revised Licence in place, ensuring the Company's ability to continue to facilitate responsible tailings management for the foreseeable future," said Ian Berzins, San Gold's President, CEO and Chief Operating Officer. "The licencing process also provided us with a unique opportunity to work closely with many local and First Nation leaders and I would like to acknowledge their contribution toward ensuring a positive result for all stakeholders."
