Taranis Completes Geochemical Soil & Environmental Baseline Sampling at Thor

Lakewood, Colorado, July 17, 2013 - Taranis Resources Inc. (TSX-V: TRO) ("Taranis") is pleased to report further work undertaken at its 100% owned, 2,800 Ha Thor project in British Columbia. A total of 292 soil samples were completed in a new area between the Meadow and Great Northern grids that will now collectively form a contiguous geochemical grid in the footwall of the existing deposit. Previous sampling in this area has yielded widespread mineralization in isolated outcrops but is difficult to map owing to a thin, pervasive layer of soil cover in the area. In addition to the normal trace-element geochemical methods analyzed in the survey, the soil sampling systematically measured the soil pH for environmental baseline readiness for any possible mining activity.Additional rock sampling was also undertaken on two areas of prospective gold mineralization outside of the previously sampled high-grade SIF Zone. These included an area located 200 m north of the SIF Zone where so il sampling found 1.06 g/t Au in on e soil sample, and the other anewly discovered quartz-rich outcrop located 20 m south of the gold-bearing SIF Zone.
Acid-Base Assessments on two stockpiles of mineralized Ag, Zn, Pb, Cu, Au rock were initiated that are prospective near-term development targets on the property. These two stockpiles were mined and stockpiled on the property by previous operators, and have been systematically surveyed and assayed by Taranis. The recent work includes the characterization of the mineralization, and pH sampling of the undisturbed surrounding areas that document any potential acid run-off.
Taranis is awaiting approval of a Notice of Work application to the B..C. Government that includes additional trenching and drilling activity on exploration targets outside of the known Resource.
