Alcoa Foundation is a non-profit, independently endowed Foundation that since its founding in 1952 has provided more than $570 million in grants to nonprofit organizations. As President, Ozer will oversee the organization’s global philanthropic activities and contributions, with a strong focus on education and the environment, and its support to Alcoa’s communities worldwide.

Over the span of her career, Ozer has held numerous communications and foundation positions. At Alcoa, her previous roles include Assistant Secretary to the Alcoa Board of Directors, and Director of Executive Communications for Alcoa Chairman and CEO, Klaus Kleinfeld. At Siemens Corporation, she was instrumental in establishing the U.S. Siemens Foundation and its renowned national scholarship program, the Siemens Competition in Math, Science and Technology.

“Esra’s demonstrated leadership and passion for corporate social responsibility make her distinctly qualified to lead Alcoa Foundation,” said Mike Barriere, Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Environment, Health and Safety and Sustainability. “With her commitment to volunteerism and STEM education, Esra is well positioned to continue advancing the Foundation’s success in supporting education, workforce development and the environment and our employee volunteerism in Alcoa’s communities.”

Prior to joining Alcoa in 2008, Ozer was Senior Director of External Relations at Siemens Corporation, where she led U.S. media relations and issues management. During her decade-long tenure at Siemens, she also oversaw the design and launch of an $11 million Disney sponsorship that became Siemens' largest integrated marketing initiative.

Ozer is a graduate of the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She was named to the 2013-2014 class of David Rockefeller Fellows, a civic engagement program of the Partnership for New York City. She serves as Chair of the Associate Board of City Year New York. She was a Young Leader of the American Council on Germany (2007) and is a member and Young Leader of the American Turkish Society. Ozer also serves on the Global Steering Committee of the Alcoa Women’s Network.
