Applied Minerals, Inc. to Showcase AMIRON(TM) Advanced Natural Iron Oxides Products at World of Concrete Trade Show

15.01.2014  |  Marketwire

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jan 15, 2014) - Applied Minerals Inc. (the "Company", "Applied Minerals") (OTCQB: AMNL) (OTCBB: AMNL), a leading global producer of halloysite clay and technical grade iron oxides, today announced it will be exhibiting at the World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas from January 21-24, 2014 to introduce AMIRON advanced natural iron oxide to the concrete industry. The management team and product specialists from Applied Minerals will be present at booth C6291 in the Central Hall.

"The construction market is the largest end use for iron oxide and the World of Concrete trade show is the industry's preeminent event, regularly attracting over 50,000 attendees," said Rogerio Galante, Head of Applied Minerals' Iron Oxide Business Unit. "This event provides a unique networking opportunity to bring our innovative line of advanced natural iron oxide products to the concrete and masonry construction industry."

AMIRON pigments are used in construction for coloring ready-mix concrete, grout, stone veneer, roofing, and asphalt. Vertically integrated from mine to market, Applied Minerals' Dragon Mine property, located in Utah (USA), was recently discovered to contain one of the purest in-situ resources of iron oxide in the world. The resource has been independently measured to contain over 3 million tons of Iron Oxide Hydroxide in the form of limonite, goethite and hematite, grading 95% on average and can be selectively mined for a wide range of end uses. Chemically, the iron oxide resource is uncharacteristically low in trace metal impurities, enabling its use in market applications that have been traditionally served by synthetically produced iron oxides.

About Applied Minerals, Inc.

Applied Minerals is the leading producer of halloysite clay and advanced natural iron oxide solutions from its wholly-owned Dragon Mine property in Utah. Halloysite is aluminosilicate clay that forms naturally occurring nanotubes. Applied Minerals markets its halloysite products under the Dragonite™ trade name.

The Dragon Mine also contains an advanced natural iron oxide resource consisting of Goethite and Hematite.
