Columbus Gold Appoints Andy Wallace to the Board of Directors

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Jan 16, 2014) - Columbus Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:CGT) ("Columbus Gold") is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Wallace to its Board of Directors.

Mr. Wallace is the principal of Cordex Exploration LLC ("Cordex"), considered to be one of the most successful gold exploration groups in the United States; credited with an unprecedented nine gold discoveries in Nevada. A number of those discoveries were under Mr. Wallace's management. He also directed or was involved in, resource expansion, development, feasibility, engineering, permitting, mine construction and production at his Marigold discovery, and at the Pinson, Dee and Secret Pass gold mines in Nevada.

In conjunction with his appointment to the board of directors, Mr. Wallace has vacated the President's position in order to accommodate a future appointment in that role, however Columbus will continue to benefit from Mr. Wallace's expertise in his role as Director and via its exclusive ongoing partnership with Cordex.
