Westhaven Provides Exploration Update; Assays 16 G/T Gold In Grab Sample At Shovelnose
The focus of the detailed prospecting, mapping and sampling program was to further evaluate the potential of the 18,412 hectare property. Particular attention was paid to the Tower Zone, an area covered by an auriferous silica cap, with the goal of delineating the feeder to the system which could lead to the discovery of higher grade material at depth. Prospecting in a drainage south of the MIK and Line 6 zones uncovered a heavily veined, siliceous rock grab sample that returned 16 g/t Gold. In total, 33 rock samples and 41 soil samples were collected for geochemical analysis. Rock grab samples ranged from below detection level to 16 grams per tonne gold.
Ben Drilling Update
Drilling is now complete on the Ben gold property. The drill program consisted of 3 holes, totaling 424 metres (1,391 feet) of diamond drilling. Drilling tested 2 targets, located approximately 4 kilometres apart. Holes BN-13-01 and BN-13-02 tested an anomalous gold zone delineated by soil geochemistry and rock sampling. Drilling encountered highly sheared volcanics and sediments showing evidence of epithermal alteration and silicification. Hole BN-13-03 tested an IP chargeability anomaly, encountering highly chlorite and serpentinite altered mafic volcanics containing high concentrations of magnetite. All of the core was sampled and sent to the laboratory. Assays are pending.
