Drilling at the Neuron Property Intersects Graphite Mineralization
VANCOUVER, March 14, 2014 /CNW/ - Callinex Mines Inc. (CNX – TSX.V) (CLLXF-OTCQX) is pleased to announce that two diamond drill holes have been completed at the company's wholly owned Neuron graphite property in Northern Manitoba. Graphitic horizons were observed visually and occur from surface to depths of 80 metres. Within the 0-80 metre intersections two notable near solid graphite intervals ranging from 0.5 metres to 3 metres have been identified in both drill holes. The near solid graphite zones are preceded and followed by wispy graphite mineralization throughout the host rock (quartz-bitotite schist). Logging and sampling of drill core was completed at a company facility. Samples are being sent in batches to SGS Labs in Lakefield, Ontario. There, core will undergo testing to determine the content of graphitic carbon, as well as grain size and liberation characteristics.
This initial round of drilling is testing EM targets identified by an airborne survey conducted during the fall of 2013 (see company press release of January 8th, 2014). The company's exploration team is encouraged by this early success. The drill program is ongoing, and is currently concentrated on expanding the identified graphite zone. Several promising EM targets remain untested at this stage in other areas of the company's 44,300 hectare property.
