Cloud Peak Energy Awarded American Technical Education Association Silver Star of Excellence Award
Cloud Peak Energy received the Silver Star of Excellence Award from the American Technical Education Association (ATEA) at their national conference in St. Paul, Minn. on March 27. The award, presented by ATEA and the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS), recognizes a company that is supportive and committed to postsecondary technical education.
Mark Englert, Ph.D., Vice President/CEO of Gillette College, nominated Cloud Peak Energy on behalf of the Northern Wyoming Community College District (NWCCD). “Cloud Peak Energy is one of our strongest industry partners,” wrote Englert in his nomination letter. “Their support to the college district has been invaluable and has been exhibited in many forms. Cloud Peak Energy has provided technical assistance, financial support and donations of materials and equipment.”

The award was presented at ATEA’s National Conference on Technical Education at the Crowne Plaza in St. Paul. ATEA was founded in 1928 with a dedication to excellence in quality of postsecondary technical education with emphasis on professional development.
