Alcoa Promotes Scott Kerns to New Position as Vice President Business Development & Global Affairs
Alcoa (NYSE:AA) announced today that Scott Kerns has been promoted to Vice President, Business Development & Global Affairs, part of Alcoa's Business Development, Government and Public Affairs organization, effective July 1.
"Scott brings a depth of commercial and operational expertise to our team as we seek to deepen support of Alcoa's downstream, value-add businesses, in alignment with Alcoa's transformation," said Daniel Cruise, Global Vice President, Business Development, Government and Public Affairs. "In his new role, Scott will enhance ongoing dialogue across our businesses, continue to leverage existing and business and government relations and facilitate joint approaches to new markets for Alcoa."
Most recently, Kerns was Vice President and General Manager Commercial Vehicle Wheels Europe, Japan and South Africa, for Alcoa's Engineered Products & Solutions business unit based in Szekesfehervar, Hungary. Previously, he was Vice President and General Manager for Alcoa Transportation Products and earlier Global Vice President, Marketing Alcoa Wheel Products, located in Cleveland, Ohio. Kerns joined Alcoa in 1995 in the sales organization as an account manager working for Alcoa North American Mill Products business. He has a marketing/management degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and obtained an MBA from Duke University.
