KGL Resources Ltd. Further Jervois Results inc 11.55% Copper and 55.7g/t Silver

21.07.2014  |  ABN Newswire
Brisbane, Australia (ABN Newswire) - Simon Milroy, the Managing Director of KGL Resources (ASX:KGL) (OTCMKTS:KGOLF), commented: "The shape of Bellbird's mineralisation is looking very amenable to open pit mining. I anticipate this will be borne out by the open pit and underground mine optimisation work that commences next month."

Near surface drilling of the Bellbird deposit intersects high grade copper within broad zones of mineralisation including:

- 13m @ 5.75% Cu, 23.2g/t Ag, 0.32g/t Au from 20 m (Hole JOC090)
Including 3m @ 11.55% Cu, 55.7g/t Ag, 0.52g/t Au from 20 m

- 16m @ 4.85% Cu, 30g/t Ag, 0.45g/t Au from 62 m (Hole JOC093)

- 6m @ 5.07% Cu, 42.5g/t Ag, 0.2g/t Au from 45 m (Hole JOC079)

- 7m @ 3.47% Cu, 28.3g/t Ag, 0.14g/t Au from 37 m (Hole JOC080)
- 8m @ 5.63% Cu, 36.2g/t Ag, 0.14g/t Au from 54 m (Hole JOC081)

- 19m @ 2.94% Cu, 16.3g/t Ag, 0.11g/t Au from 66 m (Hole JOC089)
Including 3m @ 9.64% Cu, 48.3g/t Ag, 0.24g/t Au from 73 m

Near surface drilling at Bellbird North intersects lead and zinc mineralisation including:

- 11m @ 0.28% Cu, 5.54% Pb, 2.79% Zn, 38.6g/t Ag, 0.03g/t Au from 30 m (Hole JOC122)

- 10m @ 0.15% Cu, 2.83% Pb, 7.81% Zn, 44.4g/t Ag, 0.02g/t Au from 46 m (Hole JOC126)

"The Bellbird deposit is located approximately 6km south and along strike from the Marshall deposit at Jervois. Copper mineralisation has also been intersected at the Cox's Find and Rock Face Prospects that lie between Marshall and Bellbird." "The high grade lead and zinc ore encountered in the drilling at Bellbird North adds to the presence of lead and zinc mineralisation at the Green Parrot, Marshall and Reward deposits at Jervois."

"Metallurgical test work is currently being conducted on the lead-zinc mineralisation from Jervois to examine the economics of also producing a separate lead and zinc concentrate in addition to the copper concentrate from Jervois."

"These results will enhance grade and resource calculations for the upcoming Resource upgrade in August."

A shallow reverse circulation drilling program was completed in May-June and comprised 177 holes for 9653m. The majority of the holes were drilled at the Marshall-Reward and Bellbird deposits where 59 and 56 holes were drilled respectively. Smaller programs were completed at Cox's Find, Rockface, Green Parrot and at mineralised zones parallel to Marshall-Reward. Holes range from 25m to 100m and were drilled at 10m intervals along traverses spaced at 80m along the deposits.

The drilling program was designed to improve delineation of the oxide, transition and fresh rock boundaries within the regolith profile as part of the planned resource update. Historical drilling of the oxide was not systematic, did not assay for multi elements and importantly did not determine proportions of oxide and sulphide copper ore minerals. At Marshall-Reward and Bellbird chalcopyrite is the dominant copper sulphide mineral. In the oxide and transition zones the chalcopyrite oxidises to copper carbonates (malachite and azurite) with minor bornite.

Mineralisation at Bellbird is characterised by a wide zone of mineralisation within which there are often several discrete zones of higher grade mineralisation (Figure 1 in link below).
