Pretivm Submits Final Application for Environmental Assessment Certificate
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Aug 14, 2014) - Pretium Resources Inc. (TSX:PVG)(NYSE:PVG) ("Pretivm") is pleased to announce that the Environmental Assessment Certificate application for its high-grade gold Brucejack Project has been screened and accepted for filing by the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office ("BCEAO").
With the filing of the application, the BCEAO now has a 180-day period to complete a review with the involvement of a working group including representatives of First Nations and local governments and other government agencies. The BCEAO then prepares an assessment report for a decision by the Minister of Environment and the Minister of Energy and Mines.
In coordination with the British Columbia provincial permitting process, the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency will review the Environmental Impact Statement which has also been filed.
The Brucejack Project has been proposed as a 2,700 tonnes-per-day underground gold mine.
