American Magna Corp. Announces Plans on Bell Flat Project
The Bell Flat Project is comprised of 11 unpatented mining claims covering a total of 220 acres located within the Walker Lane trend, Churchill County, Nevada. The property is located approximately 15 miles north of Gabbs, Nevada and 25 miles north of the Paradise Peak mine.
A recent site visit to the Bell Flat Project by American Magna president Herb Duerr and company director Doug McGibbon resulted in a positive outlook on the potential of the property.
It appears that an increase in magnesium occurs near the contact of a felsic intrusive. The intrusive may be sill-like in nature based on past drilling. The increase in magnesium may be due to an alteration areole around the intrusion causing dolomitization of the limestone.
Additional areas of alteration away from the obvious felsic intrusion were also observed. Samples were collected from these areas to determine if magnesium is elevated from background levels. Based on auger sampling conducted in 2005, the highly elevated levels of magnesium extend over an area as much as 500 feet wide and 1800 feet in length. Further sampling is necessary to determine the scope and breadth of the elevated values of magnesium.
"Future work proposed on the Bell Flat project includes additional geologic mapping and petrographic studies," said Mr. Duerr. "This will define the alteration extent and types of minerals, lithologies and structure that may help enhance our knowledge of the mineralization."
