Manson Creek Outlines Large Anomalous Silver-Zinc Intersections at Guaman Project, Yukon
CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Sep 22, 2014) - Manson Creek Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:MCK) (the "Company") and partner Guatavita Gold Corporation are pleased to report assay results from the first Phase of drilling at the Guaman Project, Yukon Territory.
All drill holes intersected anomalous values of silver and zinc throughout the sulphide bearing shale units and in the contact zone above the underlying volcanic units. The table below highlights the intervals with anomalous grades outlined during the maiden phase of drilling at Guaman, which consisted of 4 drill holes testing some 60 meters of strike length of the 800+ meter geophysical and geochemical anomaly that underlays the project's numerous mineralized surface gossan zones.
Drill hole | From (m) | To (m) | Interval (m)* | Silver (ppm) | Zinc (ppm) | Zinc (%) |
1 | 47 | 49 (eoh)** | 2 | 3 | 1530 | 0.15 |
2 | 6 | 226 (eoh)** | 220 | 3.16 | 1193 | 0.12 |
including | 56 | 68 | 12 | 5.95 | 2237 | 0.22 |
and | 130 | 160 | 30 | 1.97 | 2361 | 0.24 |
3 | 92 | 160 | 68 | 3.54 | 2354 | 0.24 |
including | 92 | 114 | 22 | 3.42 | 3035 | 0.30 |
and | 136 | 138 | 2 | 1.60 | 7000 | 0.7 |
4 | 140 | 148 | 8 | 2.6 | 1306 | 0.13 |
including | 146 | 148 | 2 | 4.2 | 3320 | 0.33 |
* Intervals are indicative of core sampled, and may not represent true width of mineralization as insufficient drill data at this time has not allowed for modeling or estimation of true widths. |
** (eoh) denotes the end of the drill hole. |
Jean-Pierre Jutras, P. Geol and President, reports: "The determination that significant amounts of zinc and silver throughout the rocks underlying numerous gossans on site is another element that supports the continued search for potentially economic mineralization at our Guaman project. While zinc was present and elevated throughout important intervals, no nickel was found in the core analyzed, indicating that one of the sources or units responsible for the large coincident zinc and associated nickel soil anomaly found at surface has remained elusive through this phase of work. It can be typical of the zonation in syngenetic systems for zinc, silver and barium to occur on the fringes or distally to zones of more massive mineralization. Our team will be going through the data to identify any other vectors that may assist in finding higher grade zones or feeder structures in the system."
An updated presentation, with representative pictures of the core as well as location maps and sections can be found on the Manson Creek website at manson.ca.
A total of 307 samples, including 5 standards for quality control purposes were sent to AGAT labs, representing systematic sampling of the three drill holes completed to depth, in 2 meter intervals.
Quality Control
All drill core was logged, photographed, and cut in half with a diamond saw on site. One quarter of the core was bagged and sent to AGAT Laboratories for analysis (which is an ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 certified lab), while the remaining core was archived and stored on site for verification and reference purposes. Gold is assayed by standard fire assay methods with 45 additional elements analyzed by Induced Coupled Plasma (ICP) utilizing a 4-acid digestion. Quality assurance and quality control is ensured through the use of certified standards as well as checks and assay of duplicate samples. Mr. Jean-Pierre Jutras, P.Geol., President of the Company, is the Qualified Person for the Guaman project as defined by National Instrument 43-101 and has approved the technical disclosure contained in this news release.
