Massive Sulphides and High Grades Recorded Across Multiple Lenses
Heron Resources Managing Director, Wayne Taylor, provided the following comment on the current status of the drilling program: “The results received to date from drilling into Kate Lens have been simply outstanding. And now, to follow this up with a number of strong massive sulphide intercepts into other lenses reinforces our view that this VMS system has plenty more to offer to underpin a long life, high grade mining operation at Woodlawn. We look forward to providing the market with further updates as more results come to hand.”
Assay Results
Assay results for diamond hole WNDD0001, Kate Lens, have been received and as previously reported these results were awaiting final laboratory quality control checks prior to being released. Also received were the assays for reverse circulation (RC) drill hole WNRC0010, drilled into the up-dip position of the G Lens, which intersected some 8m of massive sulphides from 37m down-hole depth. Significant massive sulphide intercepts drilled and assayed to date are summarized below with full details of hole locations and intercepts provided in Tables 1 and 2 at the end of this report:
- WNDD0001: 14.4m grading 4.6% Zn, 4.1% Cu, 0.8% Pb, 1.0g/t Au and 57g/t Ag from 374m downhole;
- WNDD0002: 8.8m grading 12.6% Zn, 1.6% Cu, 7.5% Pb, 2.3g/t Au and 152g/t Ag from 374m downhole (previously reported);
- WNDD0002: 2.3m grading 12.0% Zn, 0.6% Cu, 5.4% Pb, 1.3g/t Au and 116g/t Ag from 368m downhole (previously reported);
- WNRC0010: 8.0m grading 3.6% Zn,1.3% Cu, 2.6% Pb, 1.0g/t Au and 65g/t Ag from 37m downhole.
The strong result from WNDD0001 demonstrates good continuity of the Kate lens in a northerly direction from WLTD015 and further drilling to the north and up-dip of this intercept is planned in the coming weeks.
The massive sulphide intercept in WNRC0010 demonstrates near surface potential and this result will be pursued in an effort to prove up mineralisation that can either be mined via an open-cut or from underground access.
New Intercepts
The current drilling program has been successful in intersecting significant Woodlawn style massive sulphides in multiple lenses including Kate, G, I and the new I2 Lenses. Significant intercepts recorded but not yet assayed include:
- WNDD0006: 5.0 metres of massive sulphides from 625.0 metres (I Lens)
- WNDD0006: 3.0 metres of massive sulphides from 664.1 metres (New Lens)
- WNDD0006: 9.8 metres of massive sulphides from 699.3 metres (New I2 Lens)
- WNDD0007: 13.3 metres from 413 metres (Kate Lens)(previously reported)
The results being returned by the current program at Woodlawn continue to support the discovery of significant new mineralisation from multiple lenses and provide for the opportunity to be sourcing production from a number of locations in a new mining operation.
Further updates to the current drilling program at the Woodlawn Zinc-Copper Project will be provided upon receipt of additional results.
