Kate Lens Delivers Highest Grade Intercept 26% Zn+Pb + 2% Cu Over 12.3m
Sydney, Australia (FSCwire) - Heron Resources Ltd. (ASX:HRR, TSX:HER) (“Heron” or the “Company”) is pleased to report the receipt of the highest grade intercept recorded for Kate Lens since its discovery at the Company’s 100% owned Woodlawn Zinc-Copper Project in New South Wales. In addition, a number of other significant sulphide intercepts have been recorded along the southern boundary of the modelled Kate Lens EM plate conductor and on the edges of the H Lens.
Assay Results
Assay results for diamond hole WNDD0007, Kate Lens, have been received and recorded two very high grade massive sulphide intercepts locate approximately 30m south-east (up-plunge) from WLTD015, the initial discovery hole (Figure 1). The grades reported over the full intercept width represent the highest zinc grades recorded from this lens since its discovery.
The results from WNDD0007 add to the existing intercepts received for the Kate lens including:
- WNDD0007: 12.3m grading 20.0% Zn, 2.1% Cu, 6.1% Pb, 0.8g/t Au & 53g/t Ag from 414m downhole;
- WNDD0007: 2.4m grading 20.1% Zn, 1.6% Cu, 4.2% Pb, 2.1g/t Au & 40g/t Ag from 435m downhole;
- WNDD0001: 14.4m grading 4.6% Zn, 4.1% Cu, 0.8% Pb, 1.0g/t Au and 57g/t Ag from 374m downhole (previously reported);
- WNDD0002: 8.8m grading 12.6% Zn, 1.6% Cu, 7.5% Pb, 2.3g/t Au and 152g/t Ag from 374m downhole (previously reported);
- WNDD0002: 2.3m grading 12.0% Zn, 0.6% Cu, 5.4% Pb, 1.3g/t Au and 116g/t Ag from 368m downhole (previously reported);
- WLTD015: 32.0m grading 4.6% Zn,1.8% Cu, 1.2% Pb, 0.6g/t Au and 21g/t Ag from 376m downhole;
Incl. 9.0m grading 16.1% Zn, 2.0% Cu, 4.0% Pb, 0.8g/t Au and 52g/t Ag (previously reported)
In addition to the assay results received for Kate lens, the 2014 drilling program has also returned from other lenses:
- WNDD0002: 1.5m grading 6.5% Zn, 1.4% Cu, 2.0% Pb, 1.2g/t Au, 66g/t Ag from 217m downhole (H Lens)
- WDRC0010: 8.0m grading 3.6% Zn, 1.3% Cu, 2.6% Pb, 1.0g/t Au, 65g/t Ag from 37m downhole (G Lens)
Full details of the intercepts drilled and assayed to date are provided in Tables 1 and 2 at the end of this report.

New Intercepts
The current drilling program has been successful in intersecting significant Woodlawn style massive sulphides in multiple lenses. Two further intercepts into the Kate Lens have been recorded in holes WNDD0009 and WNDD0010 with these two holes being located on the southern boundary of the modelled Kate Lens EM plate conductor, defined by previous drilling to the north. These two holes will provide a valuable platform for further downhole EM survey work to provide important information on the southern extension of the Kate Lens plus also potentially identify new lens positions stratigraphically below the Kate Lens.
As noted in previous drilling updates, the 2014 drilling program at Woodlawn has been very successful in intersecting massive sulphides across multiple lenses. Significant intercepts recorded but assays not yet available include:
- WNDD0009: 7.3 metres of massive to semi-massive sulphides from 309 metres (Kate Lens)
- WNDD0010: 12.5 metres of pyrite stringers & semi-massive sulphides from 354 metres (Kate Lens edge weakly mineralised)
- WNDD0009: 2.0m of chalcopyrite stringer sulphides from 198m (H Lens)
- WNDD0009: 3.45m of massive and semi-massive sulphides from 203m (H Lens)
- WNDD0010: 2.4m of chalcopyrite stringer sulphides from 206m (H Lens)
- WNDD0006: 5.0 metres of massive sulphides from 625 metres (I Lens) (previously reported)
- WNDD0006: 3.0 metres of massive sulphides from 664 metres (New Lens) (previously reported)
- WNDD0006: 9.8 metres of massive sulphides from 699 metres (New I2 Lens) (previously reported)
- WNDD0008: 6.6 metres of massive sulphides from 434 metres (Kate Lens) (previously reported)
The Company is extremely pleased with the progress achieved to date with the 2014 drilling program. The results and data collected continues to provide strong support for defining further extensions to the known mineralised positions along with improving the discovery potential for new lenses.
