Strata Minerals Announces Board Appointment
Vancouver, British Columbia--(Newsfile Corp. - January 7, 2015) - Strata Minerals Inc. (TSXV: SMP) ("Strata" or the "Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Gordon Tainton to the Company's board as an independent director, effective immediately.
Mr. Tainton is the Geneva-based Vice President for Bulk Products at Aslchem International Inc. where he focusses on ferrous metals, fertilizers and petrochemical products for key industrial & end user accounts. He has 30 years of natural resource experience, primarily at a senior management level with Inspectorate S.A., Interacid S.A., a 100 % owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Corp., Tokyo, and European Nickel Plc. Mr. Tainton is also a non-executive director of NEOS Resources Plc and is a graduate of Simon Fraser University in Vancouver.

In connection with Mr. Tainton's appointment, Strata also announces the granting to him of 100,000 stock options in accordance with the Company's stock option plan. The options, which are subject to the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange, are exercisable at $0.13 per share, vest in four equal instalments over a period of three years, and have a term of five years.
