S&P Dow Jones Indices Announces Changes to the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices

A Deletion from the S&P/TSX SmallCap and Global Mining Indices

TORONTO, April 2, 2015 /CNW/ - S&P Dow Jones Canadian Index Services will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices:

The shareholders of Rio Alto Mining Ltd. (TSX:RIO) have agreed to the terms of a Plan of Arrangement with Tahoe Resources Inc. (TSX:THO). Tahoe will pay a combination of cash and shares for each share of Rio Alto Mining. Rio Alto Mining will be removed from the S&P/TSX SmallCap, the S&P/TSX Global Gold and Equal Weight Global Gold and the S&P/TSX Global Mining Indices after the close of trading on Tuesday, April 7, 2015. At the same time, the shares of Tahoe Resources will increase in the S&P/TSX Composite and Capped Composite, the S&P/TSX Completion, the S&P/TSX Composite Dividend, the S&P/TSX Capped Materials and the S&P/TSX Global Mining Indices to reflect the issuance of Tahoe Resources shares as part of the transaction. There will be no relative weight change for Tahoe Resources in the S&P/TSX Composite Equal Weight Index.
