MOAG Confirms Significant Molybdenum-Copper-Silver Mineralization at its Mace Property in Ireland
PL 934 incorporates a molybdenum-(copper) prospect known as 'Mace' identified in the late 1960s by mapping, geochemistry, geophysics and shallow drilling. A diamond drill (6 hole) program for 1102m by MOAG in 2014 confirmed the presence of significant molybdenite-copper-silver at Mace within potassic-epidote altered granites. Intercepts up to 3.1m @0.34% Cu, 0.29% Mo and 3.43 g/t Ag; 3.3m @0.37% Cu; 1.24% Mo and 0.7g/t Ag, were recorded within broad zones of up to 16m @ 0.14% Cu; 0.10% Mo and 0.81 g/t Ag, hosted within quartz veins in altered granite rock. The mineralised zone extends for >350m along strike and 150m vertical depth, and is open along strike and down dip.
Highlights:
1. A further twenty five(25) hole drill program for 5000m is planned at the Mace prospect during summer 2015, to test along-strike and down-dip of the known Mo-Cu-Ag mineralised system, subject to final regulatory approval.
2. The regulatory authorities have been pre-informed of the planned drilling campaign.
3. Local stakeholder engagement is ongoing with landowners and near neighbours, to ensure that the planned exploration campaign has minimal impact on agricultural and local activities.
4. Geophysics: an IP survey was completed in recent weeks and has confirmed the presence of chargeable drill targets to guide the drilling campaign.
5. Geological interpretation of the area is continuing and an airborne 'drone' survey was completed to allow advanced structural interpretation of veins, brecciation and structures, prior to further drilling.
6. Environmental planning: An ecological survey was completed as part of ongoing Appropriate Assessment screening of habitats and ecology at Mace, in line with regulatory requirements.
MOAG have contracted SLR Consulting of Dublin, Ireland www.slrconsulting.com to manage the drilling program, including geological logging and interpretation, liaison with landowners and statutory authorities, environmental management and statutory reporting functions on its behalf. It is planned that drilling will be carried out under contract by Irish Drilling Limited and geochemical analyses will be undertaken by ALS Global Laboratories, both companies based in Co. Galway.
