Sierra Metals strengthens management team with the appointment of Matthew Wunder as Vice President Exploration
TORONTO, July 27, 2015 /CNW/ - Sierra Metals Inc. (TSX: SMT) (BVL: SMT) ("Sierra Metals" or "the Company") is extremely pleased to announce that the Company has appointed Mr. Matthew Wunder as Vice President Exploration effective July 1, 2015.
Mr. Wunder is a Professional Geologist with over 25 years' international experience in mineral exploration with a tremendous track record. Prior to forming a successful independent mining consultancy, Mr. Wunder held the position of Vice President Exploration with Rubicon Minerals from June 2007 until Dec 2013 where he was recognized and honored as Co-recipient of the Colin Spence award for Excellence in Global Mineral Exploration (AME-BC, 2010). Prior to Rubicon Minerals, Mr. Wunder gained extensive experience in ore deposit exploration with various companies including Noranda (over 14 years), Antamina and Aur Resources.
Mr. Thomas Robyn will be retiring from his role as Senior Vice President Exploration after 11 years with Sierra Metals and will transition to a consultancy role with the Company.
