Ministry of Labour and Ontario Provincial Police Investigate Employee Death at Detour Lake Mine
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 2, 2015) - Detour Gold Corp. (TSX:DGC) ("Detour Gold" or the "Company") reports that on September 1, 2015, representatives from the Ministry of Labour were at the Detour Lake mine to obtain additional information related to the death of a Detour Gold employee that occurred at the mine on June 3, 2015.
The Company participated in the original investigation by the Ministry of Labour immediately following the employee's death in June. On August 31, 2015, the Company was advised that the Ontario Provincial Police and Ministry of Labour would be further investigating the circumstances surrounding the employee's death. We will continue to cooperate fully with the police and the Ministry of Labour in this investigation.
