CKR Carbon Announces Shipment of Samples to End Users

18.12.2015  |  Marketwire
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired - Dec. 18, 2015) - CKR Carbon Corp. ("CKR" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:CKR) (FRANKFURT:CB8) (OTC PINK:CBULF) is pleased to announce the shipment of concentrate and lump samples to end users from the company's Aukam vein graphite project in Namibia.

>CKR Carbon has been requested to send samples to graphite end users for them to test the suitability of Aukam lump graphite material in their value added applications. Concentrate samples grading 96.13% Cg (carbon as graphite) were sent to two graphite consumers, one based in Europe and the other in North America. One of the companies also requested a sample of the lump graphite to conduct its own metallurgical test work. These samples came from the company's screened stockpile, which graded an average of 42% Cg. Lump graphite is currently only mined in Sri-Lanka, and an alternative source of lump graphite at commercial scale is important to end users in order to diversify supply risk.

Several batches of samples, including those to the end users, have recently been sent from Namibia and the required export permits were granted to the company without hesitation.

"The sending of samples to end users is a direct result of CKR's efforts to market the lump graphite that occurs at our Aukam project," said Roger Moss CEO. "We look forward to further discussions with end users as we work with them to provide a high quality product suited to their needs."

About the Aukam Project

CKR has an option to acquire an initial 63% in the Aukam graphite project from Next Graphite. The project is located on 96,000 acres in southern Namibia close to the port city of Luderitz. The property hosts an open pit and three underground adits, which were mined periodically between 1940 and 1974. Five dumps from the historical mining occur on the property and 92 samples from the lower three dumps were assayed and averaged 42% Cg.

The high-quality, vein-type graphite is hosted within a shear zone in which underground mine workings show well-mineralized structures that are believed to continue down-dip. The surrounding area remains underexplored.
