The first vertical hole was drilled at Sao Manuel and intersected visible large and jumbo flake graphite from 7 metres to 84 metres. The hole ending in mineralisation. The second and third holes were drilled from the same pad and inclined at -55? as scissor holes and intersected the same visible graphite mineralisation to depths of 46 and 51 metres, respectively.
The air-core drilling program is expected to take a month and will comprise approximately 2,000 metres and approximately 30 boreholes. The aims of the drilling program include:
- Testing the grade, strike and lateral extensions of known mineralisation at Sao Manuel and Sao Ruben;
- Testing depth extensions to known mineralisation where the limit of drilling is generally between 10 and 20 metres from surface;
- Drilling a number of higher-grade satellite areas where there is limited drilling; and
- Validating assays from historical drilling programs.
The drilling data will be used to complete a resource estimate and scoping study.
