Vancouver, British Columbia (FSCwire) - Athabasca Nuclear Corporation (TSX-V: ASC) (“ASC” or the “Corporation”) is pleased to report that a fully-funded work program has been approved by the Corporation for its Spodumene Lake and Dumont lithium projects located within the Whabouchi lithium district.

“This work program will represent ASC’s inaugural exploration of our recently-acquired Spodumene Lake and Dumont lithium projects, which are both located in close proximity to Nemaska Lithium’s Whabouchi deposit. We are excited to explore for other potentially significant spodumene lithium deposits in the area, including examination of mapped pegmatites already identified on our Dumont lithium project,” stated Ryan Kalt, CEO of the Corporation.

Details about the Planned Exploration Program

The program will begin with a data compilation of historic exploration work and geological mapping completed in the area. This will allow for a prioritization of targets for the initial ground exploration work to be completed by the Corporation.

The ground work will follow and include prospecting of the previously mapped pegmatite occurrences, with an emphasis on identifying any that may be spodumene bearing. Prospective pegmatites will be further mapped and undergo surface grab and/or channel sampling for further assessment of mineralization potential.

A regional program will also be advanced, with the objective of discovering new pegmatite occurrences that may be spodumene bearing. This work will include soil geochemical surveys and potential stream sediment sampling.

Management cautions that past results or discoveries on adjacent properties may not necessarily be indicative to the presence of mineralization on the Corporation’s properties.
