Khalkos: Extension of the Revillard Gold Showing Confirmed by Drilling on the Malartic Project
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Aug 22, 2016) - KHALKOS EXPLORATION. ("Khalkos") (TSX VENTURE:KAS) Management of Khalkos Inc. is pleased to announce results of first three drill holes undertaken directly under the Révillard gold showing in the Malartic township. Drill hole RV-16-03 yielded gold grade of 0.6 g/t Au over 30 m (metal factor of 18, meaning width multiplies by the grade), including 5.5 g/t Au over 1 m and 2.5 g/t Au over 1.5 m. Drill hole RV-16-02 intersected the main shear zone and revealed a mineralized, low grade envelope with 0.4 g/t Au over 28 m, including 3 g/t Au over 1.5 m. Drill hole RV-16-01 also intersected the main shear zone with a grade of 0.3 g/t Au over 16 m. A sericite zone that appears to correlate from a drill hole to another has meanwhile returned gold values of the order of 4.2 g/t Au over 2 m including 7 g/t Au over 1 m.
In total, eight short drill holes were executed under the main showing for a total of 800 m confirming thus the vertical continuity on approximately 50 metres. They have all intersected the main shear zone as well as a sericite altered zone mineralized in pyrite, sphalerite, galena and native gold.
Robert Gagnon, President of Exploration Khalkos states: ''With only 800 metres of drilling Khalkos confirms for the first time the importance of the Révillard surface gold showing, and this, in a mining camp that is considered mature. A new drilling campaign will follow shortly in order to validate the continuity of the main zone and the sericite zone at greater depths. Note that the main stripping zone corresponds to an induced polarization anomaly untested by drilling. The next campaign will aim also the west lateral extension of the mineralized zone.''
Following an insurance program and analytical quality control, blank samples and standards were added to collected samples on half drill cores of the Malartic property before being assayed by Actlabs laboratory of Val-d'Or, Québec following the fire assay method.
