Sherritt's Moa Joint Venture Provides Production Update
Finished nickel production for the year is now expected to be in the range of 32,500 - 33,000 tonnes compared to the original guidance of 33,500 - 34,500 tonnes. Finished cobalt production is expected to be unchanged, as higher volumes of third party feed have offset the relatively minor impact of reduced production.
A temporary bypass over the river is in place. Secondary access from another unsurfaced road between the port and the plant site has also been identified and that road is currently being upgraded to carry heavier loads. Plant operations have resumed, although transport to and from the port is affected by longer travel times and the necessity to carry lighter loads. Timing of more permanent repairs to or replacement of the municipal bridge is not yet known.
