Noka Completes Technical Review of Lodgepole Point Uranium Project, Southern Athabasca Basin
Both the Rook 1 and Lodgepole Point projects contain structurally controlled northeast trending features, along the southern margin of the Athabasca Basin that contain hydrothermally altered lithologies with anomalous levels of pathfinder elements. First pass drilling of the Horse conductors, which were initially identified by geophysical programs completed by JNR Resources, identified highly mylonized and altered graphitic pelite units, containing up to 65% graphite. The drilling, which only superficially penetrated the basement, also encountered highly altered units containing anomalous levels of base metals elements, such as copper and zinc. Recommended work at Lodgepole Point would include the drilling of the basement layer, to depths of up to 500m. The depth to the basement is a nominal 50-150m.
