Blind Creek Resources Receives Engineer Gold Mine Water Discharge Permit

13.07.2017  |  The Newswire
Vancouver, July 13, 2017 - Blind Creek Resources Ltd. (BCK: TSX-V) is pleased to announce that the Company has received a water discharge permit from the British Columbia Ministry of Environment for its 100% owned historic Engineer Gold Mine, situated 32 kilometres southwest of Atlin, B.C. The permit authorizes Blind Creek to discharge groundwater from the underground workings of the Engineer Gold Mine and effluent from the Company's 50 tonne per day gravity separation gold mill into Tagish Lake and the tailings impoundment, respectively, subject to a number of specific requirements.

Permit Provides for Mine De-watering, Exploration, Development and Production

The water discharge permit is a critical component for continued underground exploration, development and small-scale, high-grade gold production at Engineer Gold Mine. The Company is currently reviewing a small, high-grade gold production opportunity defined by the previous owner of Engineer Mine, which would require dewatering to access the lowermost 3 levels of the mine. This permit provides for this eventuality. The mine was last dewatered below 7 Level by BCGold Corp. in 2012, as follow-up to a successful underground test mining and on-site milling program conducted by BCGold in 2011.

Current Exploration Focus

Blind Creek's current focus at Engineer Gold Mine is surface exploration for additional high-grade gold veins and lower-grade, bulk-tonnage shear-type mineralization. The Company is planning a 2017 work program that is to include soil geochemical surveys, trenching, geological mapping, sampling and diamond drilling. The Company is currently reviewing a draft NI 43-101 technical report on the Engineer Gold Mine Property recently received from Mr. Darren O'Brien, P.Geo.
