Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. Appoints Dwight Percy as Manager, Investor Relations

SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN -- (Marketwire) -- 05/07/10 -- Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: GWG) (OTCQX: GWMGF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Dwight Percy as Manager, Investor Relations for Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. ('GWMG' or the 'Company').

Mr. Percy replaces Ron Malashewski and the Company wishes to offer Ron its sincere thanks and best wishes for the future. Ron's hard work and dedication is greatly appreciated by the Company and its shareholders.

For the past fifteen years, Dwight has been involved in investor relations, communications, media advisory services and strategic planning. During that time he has worked with private firms, development agencies and publicly traded companies.

He has had previous involvement with Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. in the Company's planning processes, working with the Board of Directors and senior management in establishing strategic options and directions.
