Imperial Reports Huckleberry Mine Operations Temporarily Suspended as Access Road is Threatened by Wildfires
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 08/17/10 -- Imperial Metals Corporation (TSX: III) reports that wildfires burning in the area of the Huckleberry mine have forced temporary suspension of operations. The Huckleberry mine is located 123 kilometres southwest of Houston, British Columbia. At the time of this release, the wildfires are approximately 50 kilometres from the plant site. The access road to the mine and the power line which services the mine are threatened. The mill complex is not threatened at present, however the mine workforce has been reduced to a maintenance crew only, and mining and milling operations were temporarily suspended on August 16.
Imperial will post updates on the situation at the Huckleberry mine on its website (www.imperialmetals.com) and will issue a news release when resumption of operations can be confirmed.
