Auzex Resources Limited: Managing Director John Lawton Speaks With Brian Carlton at The Symposium Resources Roadshow in Sydney
John Lawton is the founder of Auzex Resources and supported the Company financially through its early development. Through his private company Peninsula Goldfields Pty Ltd, he retains a major shareholding in the Company.
During that time he has been directly involved with most aspects of the industry from exploration to mining, primarily in gold but also base metals, including copper, lead and zinc.
John has been continuously associated with the minerals industry for over 35 years, predominantly within Australia. In the early years as an exploration geologist he was involved with a number of companies predominantly within Western Australia and Queensland in the search for uranium, base metals and gold.
John was a co-founder and an executive director of Ross Mining NL throughout its development from a gold explorer to a leading middle ranking gold miner producing in excess of 170,000 ounces of gold per year from mines located in central Queensland, northern New South Wales and the Solomon Islands. Ross Mining attained a market capitalisation of A$270 million in 1996 built on a reputation for innovative, low cost production from low-grade deposits.
He is a Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
