Standard & Poor's Initiates Factual Stock Report Coverage on AQM Copper, Inc.
Standard & Poor′s announced today that it has commenced Factual
Stock Report coverage on AQM Copper, Inc.
AQM Copper Inc. (AQM), in the exploration stage as of March 31, 2010, is
a Canadian based mineral exploration company developing copper deposits
in South America. The company's focus is on acquiring and developing
oxide copper prospects in Chile and Peru as well as on acquiring,
optioning and exploring properties with potential for mega-deposits of
copper and gold potential in Latin America.
The company is developing the Zafranal Copper-Gold Porphyry Project
located in Southern Peru. AQM Copper is the operator of a 50/50 joint
venture that has been formed for the continued exploration and potential
development of the Zafranal project. AQM Copper also has a 40%
participation in the Elenita project in the North of Chile.
The Zafranal Cu-Au project is located in the Southern Peru Copper Belt
and consists of a well defined main zone and five exploration targets
over a total of 25,000 hectares. To date, 50,000m of diamond and reverse
circulation drilling have been completed. An initial NI 43-101 compliant
resource is expected to be published by the third quarter of 2010. The
data cutoff for this initial resource was July 19, 2010, although
drilling still continues The company has engaged AMEC Minproc for this
initial NI 43-101 compliant resource.
According to the company, drilling to date suggests mineralization at
Zafranal has the potential to become a significant copper gold porphyry
deposit with mineralization identified over a 3.200-meter strike length,
up to 600 meters wide, 30 to 150 meters thick and open in multiple
directions. The company has also initiated exploratory drilling on two
of Zafranal's five satellite targets.
On July 28, 2010, AQM Copper announced the discovery of a new
mineralized zone at the Sicera Norte satellite target, 8.5 kilometers
northwest of the Zafranal Main Zone. Sicera Norte represents a separate
discovery approximately two kilometers north of the previously
discovered Sicera Sur zone. Sicera Norte had never before been drill
tested.
