Silver Quest Commences Drilling at Prospector Mountain, Yukon
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/09/10 -- Silver Quest Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: SQI) (the 'Company') is pleased to provide an update on its Prospector Mountain Property, located 90 km northeast of Carmacks, Yukon. The Phase II exploration drill program (approximately 1,500 m) has commenced to test the recently discovered Bonanza Zone. For further details please visit the Company's website www.silverquest.ca.
The 1,000 m long by 550 m wide Bonanza Zone is defined by significantly anomalous soil and rock geochemical values. Select rock samples collected during the 2010 Phase I exploration program within the Bonanza Zone confirmed the highly anomalous assays reported in 2009, which returned gold values up to 82.8 grams per tonne (g/t), silver values up 1,375 g/t and copper values up to 11.65% (see news release dated January 18, 2010). Selected rock samples from within the geochemically anomalous zone returned significant gold values up to 109 g/t as well as elevated values for silver, arsenic, bismuth, copper, antimony (see news release dated August 4, 2010). Samples taken are predominantly 'float' samples collected from widespread felsenmeer.
The Company has planned 11 diamond drill holes which will target bedrock mineralization below the anomalous rock and soil samples previously collected.
