Bralorne Exploration and Development Update With High Grade Results

14.09.2010  |  Marketwire

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 09/14/10 -- Bralorne Gold Mines Ltd. (the 'Company') (TSX VENTURE: BPM)(PINK SHEETS: BPMSF)(BERLIN: GV7)(FRANKFURT: GV7) is pleased to report on results of on-going surface and underground exploration at its Bralorne Pioneer Mine property.

Surface Exploration

Surface diamond drilling in the BK Gap tested the BK zone and inferred parallel veins. Significant mineralization was intersected on the BK vein in drill hole 149, which assayed 43.51 g/T gold (1.269 oz/ton) over 0.9 meters, with the check assay result being 104.5 g/T gold (3.048 oz/ton). The intersect is located on the upper BK vein, above and to the west of the mineralized area currently being developed on the 800 Level. Holes 165 through 169 were drilled to follow-up the high grade intersect encountered in hole 149, positive results were obtained for holes 165, 166, 167 and 169. Hole 169 intersected visible gold within quartz vein mineralization but the assays results have not been received yet. Significant results for all the holes in the BK Gap are summarized in Table 1 below.

The drilling results are considered very positive as they indicate a possible second mineralized shoot above and to the west of the one currently being developed on the 800 Level. This mineralized zone could be accessed from the decline that was initiated in 2009 to develop the BK vein at the 575 Level.

All holes were drilled at NQ size and the recovered core was split for sample collection. Half of the core was sent for analysis and the other half is stored at the core facility located at the mine site. Samples were shipped to Eco Tech Laboratory Ltd. in Kamloops, BC; gold geochemical analysis was done by the fire assay method using a 1 assay ton charge. Quality control is being monitored by inclusion of reference standards and blank samples in 10% of the samples and by repeat analysis on selected pulps. Additional analysis of selected samples will be done at a second commercial laboratory as a further check. All assay rejects are being retained at the site for further analysis if required.

abbreviations: DDH = diamond drill hole; m = meter; Au = gold; oz/ton =
troy ounce per short ton; g/T = grams per metric tonne; VG = visible gold.

Cautionary Note: The company considers all intersects assaying 0.1 oz/ton Au or greater as significant, but cautions that the intersect data is preliminary in nature and not conclusive evidence of the likelihood of the occurrence of an economic mineral deposit.

Underground Exploration

Underground exploration is continuing at the property with trial mining of the BK vein, as well as a raise and sublevel exploration of the North vein. On the BK vein, trial mining by shrinkage stoping was initiated from the 800 level. The mineralized zone is being tested over a strike length of 100 meters with an expected upwards extent of 60 meters in this block. The North vein, situated in the historic King mine, is being explored by raises and sublevels to confirm the resource block located between the 800 and 700 levels. Trial mining by the room and pillar method is planned to follow. Development material from both areas is being stockpiled for bulk sampling.

To date, approximately 5500 tons of material has been stockpiled at the main 800 level portal and approximately 4500 tons remains in broken inventory underground. The grade of this material is expected to average between 0.25 and 0.35 ounce per ton gold, as determined from numerous samples collected from excavated material and development faces. These samples were analyzed at either the mine laboratory or at Ecotech Laboratory in Kamloops by fire assay using standard or metallic assay methods. Quality control included insertion of blank and standard samples at a frequency of 10%.

The Company is planning to re-start the mill this fall when enough material has been stockpiled to support milling at a rate of 100 tons per day. Once the development muck has been processed successfully, the company plans to continue mining and milling all the material available from the North and BK-800 areas. Further underground exploration development will be directed at indicated and inferred resources on the upper BK vein, as well as the 51BFW, Taylor and 52 veins accessed from the 400 Level . This development work will be aimed at defining more sources of mill feed in order to sustain operations.
