Knight Resources Ltd.: Knight Reports Preliminary Results from West Raglan 2010 Program
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/04/10 -- Mr. Harvey Keats, Chief Executive Officer of Knight Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: KNP)(FRANKFURT: KRL), reports preliminary results from drilling completed in 2010 on the West Raglan Project. The drill program was focused on investigating targets along the Raglan trend and within the Povungnituk Group with the objective of confirming the presence of ultramafic rock and to investigate potential for nickel, copper and PGE - bearing magmatic sulphide mineralization. In conjunction with drilling, surface work, comprised of geophysics, mapping and prospecting, was conducted with the objective of identifying targets for possible future drilling.
The 2010 summer program has been completed with 21 diamond drill holes totaling 4998 metres drilled during this program. This press release provides preliminary descriptive results of the drilling. Assay results are pending for all samples.
Ultramafic rocks were intersected in 19 of 21 drill holes. Sulphide mineralization, where present within ultramafic rocks, was generally described as weakly disseminated and patchy. Mineralization of this nature was intersected in Terrace, Green Zone, CDC and Rain Day areas.
Drilling in the CDC Southeast (4 drill holes) intersected unmineralized ultramafic rocks, while two holes drilled in the CDC trend encountered very weakly mineralized ultramafic rocks. Nine holes were drilled into the laterally extensive Terrace trend where all holes intersected ultramafic rocks and three drill holes returned weak 'shows' of sulphide mineralization within the ultramafic rocks. Two holes were completed in the Green Zone area immediately west of the Frontier mineralized trend. Both holes intersected weakly mineralized ultramafic rocks and one hole (WR-10-189) intersected massive sulphides in the basalts which overlay the ultramafic rocks. Drilling was also conducted in the Rain Day area with 2 holes completed. Both drill holes intersected weakly mineralized ultramafic rock. Two diamond drill holes were completed on separate green field targets in the Povungnituk group. These holes did not intersect ultramafic rocks.
The attached Table 1 provides descriptive results of the 2010 drilling on the West Raglan Project. Further technical data, including maps can be found on the Company's web site at www.Knightresources.ca.
Project Overview
The West Raglan Project is a joint venture between Anglo American Exploration (Canada) Ltd. ('AAEC') (51%) and Knight (49%). The West Raglan Project, Quebec covers over 710 sq. km and includes approximately 65 kilometres of the Raglan Horizon along which extensive ultramafic rocks typically occur.
AAEC is the operator of the West Raglan Project and is responsible for the sampling, submittal of samples for assay and QA/QC. Samples were cut on site and standards and blanks were added to each sample batch under supervision of AAEC staff. Robin Adair, VP of Exploration for Knight Resources Ltd., is the Qualified Person responsible for the technical information in this news release.
