AQM Copper Proposes Steve Altmann and Tom Vehrs for Directors at Upcoming AGM
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/26/10 -- AQM Copper Inc. (TSX VENTURE: AQM)(BVLAC: AQM) ('AQM' or 'the Company') is pleased to announce that Mr. Steve Altmann and Dr. Tom Vehrs have agreed to stand for election to the Board of Directors at the upcoming Annual General Meeting on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 10:00am. The meeting will be held at Suite 1500 - 1040 West Georgia Street, Vancouver, BC.
Items to be addressed at the AGM will include the approval of AQM's 2010/2011 Board of Directors re-election and appointment, in addition to a panel reduction. AQM has proposed to reduce its Board of Directors to its original seven member panel, while adding two new key members, Mr. Altmann and Mr. Vehrs.
Mr. Steve Altmann brings 18 years of investment banking and capital markets expertise, specializing in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions with Desjardins Securities, Scotia Capital, Credit Suisse First Boston and RBC. He is currently President of a TSX listed mining company. Mr. Altmann has completed numerous equity and equity linked financings and several advisory assignments over his career.
Dr. Tom Vehrs is a Senior Minerals Geologist with 35 years experience in exploration, development and production activities. The majority of this time was spent in South and Central America, where Dr. Vehrs has led a variety of mineral exploration companies, including Fortuna Silver Mines Inc., Gold Fields International, and Aquest Minerals Corporation.
AQM believes the addition of Mr. Altmann & Dr. Vehrs to the Company's Board of Directors will further strengthen AQM's cache of capabilities necessary for the Company's growth going forward. With the appointment of these new directors, Juan Enrique Vargas, Stephanie Ashton, Jozsef Ambrus, and Bruno Behn will not stand for re-election.
