George Bee Appointed to the Board of Directors of Peregrine Metals
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/28/10 -- Peregrine Metals Ltd. (TSX: PGM) ('Peregrine Metals' or 'the Company') is pleased to announce that Mr. George Bee will be joining the Company as a Director.
Mr. Eric Friedland, CEO of Peregrine Metals, said, 'Mr. Bee has built a strong reputation in the mining industry for successfully developing, building and operating large-scale mines in South America, and we look forward to benefitting from his considerable expertise and guidance as we advance our large Altar copper-gold porphyry project in San Juan Province, Argentina. Mr. Bee is currently President, CEO and Director of Andina Minerals Inc. Previously, he worked at Aurelian Resources (acquired by Kinross Gold Corporation) where he was the Chief Operating Officer and was primarily responsible for the development of Aurelian's principle project, the Fruta del Norte gold project in Ecuador. Prior to that Mr. Bee was Director, Technical Projects for Barrick Gold Corporation. Mr. Bee first joined Barrick in 1989 and during his career at Barrick was responsible for a number of operating and development projects. In 1998, he worked as Operations Manager to finalize the construction and to commence operations at the large Pierina gold mine in Peru. In 2005, as General Manager, he was responsible for leading the team that took the Veladero mine from advanced exploration through feasibility, permitting and into production. Veladero is a large tonnage, low-grade, gold heap leach operation located at altitude in San Juan Province, Argentina, approximately 250 kilometres north of the Company's Altar project.
