Altius Reports on 2010 AGM Results Jamie Strauss Joins Board

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABADOR -- (Marketwire) -- 10/28/10 -- Altius (TSX: ALS) reports that all resolutions presented at its October 27th, 2010 Annual and Special Meeting were approved by shareholders, including the re-election of directors John Baker, Brian Dalton, Fred Mifflin, Susan Sherk and Don Warr and the election of Mr. Jamie Strauss as a new independent director of the Company. Mr. Strauss is a partner of Strauss Partners LLP, London, a mine-finance boutique, and a former managing director of UK Equity Products with BMO Capital Markets in London, England.

Altius also wishes to acknowledge the retirement of Mr. J. Geoffrey Thurlow from the Board. Geoff is a co-founder of Altius and served as a director of the Company since inception.

All other resolutions were approved by shareholders with strong voting participation of more than 60% of shares outstanding. The Company notes in particular that its approach to executive compensation as disclosed in the management information circular was approved on an advisory basis with 80.7% of the votes cast in favour of the resolution.
