Zincore Drilling Confirms Accha North Flank Mineralization

04.11.2010  |  Marketwire

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/04/10 -- Zincore Metals Inc. (TSX: ZNC)(BVLAC: ZNC) ('Zincore' or the 'Company') reports that it has received additional high grade assay results from the in-fill, definition drilling program at its Accha project. Of additional significance, intersections from two holes targeting the north flank of the deposit intersected high grade zinc mineralization suggesting that there may be significant exploration potential north of the known deposit.

Highlights from the infill holes include: 9.16 % Zn(i) over 38.7 metres in hole AC-77; 12.39 % Zn(i) over 17.0 metres in hole AC-78; 21.17% Zn(i) over 13.0 metres in hole AC-79 and 24.72% Zn(i) over 1.9 metres in hole AC-80. Holes AC-83 and AC 84 tested the north flank of the Accha deposit and returned 7.08% Zn(i) over 26.3 metres in hole AC-83 and 15.34% Zn(i) over 18.8 metres in hole AC-84.

Zincore President and CEO, Jorge Benavides, commented 'We are, of course, very encouraged by the continuity of mineralization and the high grade values in these results. However, we are especially excited about the results from holes AC-83 and AC-84. These two holes intersected significant zinc mineralization on the northern flank of the Accha deposit indicating that the deposit may be open and extend in that direction. When combined with the significant values previously reported from trenching, also to the north of the known deposit, there is good evidence to believe that the resources in this deposit will grow in size.'

To date 3,178 metres of the planned 5,000metre program have been completed. The in-fill drill program, recommended by Micon International Limited (iii) continues. Upon completion of the program, a new model of the Accha deposit will be constructed and a Mineral Resource Estimate and accompanying NI 43-101 Technical Report will be generated. A similar geological modeling program is underway at the Yanque project, also located in the Accha Zinc Oxide District. At Yanque, in-fill drilling is expected to start in early November with the objective to upgrade Inferred Resources to Indicated and better define the high grade portions of the Yanque ore body. A new 43-101 Technical Report will also be issued after this work is concluded.

Quality Control

Zincore has implemented a quality control program to ensure best practice in litho geochemical sampling and analysis of rock chips, trench, tunnel and drill core samples.

All drill core samples (approximately one metre, half-core composites) are shipped in security sealed bags via a private trucking company directly to the Acme Laboratories facility in Lima. All samples for the resource drill program are analyzed using two techniques: Zinc and lead grades are determined by Atomic Absorption and if the results exceed 10% they are re-assayed by volumetric methods. In addition, all samples are assayed by ICP-ES for 37 elements.

The Company submits its own standards and blanks as a measure of the accuracy of the analysis. All pulps and coarse rejects are being recovered and stored. Prior to a new resource estimate, 10% of all samples used in the resource calculation will be re-assayed at a second laboratory using the same analytical techniques described above. This includes re-assaying of pulps from the coarse rejects.
