Critical Capital Appoints Dr. David Groves to Advisory Committee of Castle Peak Mining Ltd.
Professor Groves has had a distinguished career as a geologist and educator and has been honoured as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science. During his academic career, Dr. Groves authored and co-authored over 500 papers and is widely published on Archean evolution, the nature and of genesis orogenic gold deposits, global metallogeny and conceptual targeting of mineral deposits. He was President of the Geological Society of Australia, the Society of Economic Geologists, and SGA (European Society of Economic Geologists). He has received ten medals for his research, including the Silver Medal of the Society of Economic Geologists, the Geological Association of Canada Medal, and the Haddon King Medal of the Australian Academy of Science.
Professor Groves' publications continue to influence the way academic and mining industry personnel understand Earth processes world-wide, particularly in relation to mineralization and exploration. Importantly, he has acted as a consultant and provided training courses to exploration companies in Ghana over many years. He has also supervised several graduate students in Ghana leading to an improved understanding of controls on Ghanaian gold deposits.
Dr. Groves was recently honoured with the Penrose Gold Medal of the Society of Economic Geologists (SEG). The Penrose Gold Medal was established in 1923 to be awarded primarily in recognition of a full career in the performance of unusually original work in the Earth Sciences, which shall be broadly interpreted to encompass major contributions to the development of mineral resources through mine geology, exploration, and discovery. The medal is the highest honour the SEG can bestow on a geologist.
Castle Peak President Darren Lindsay said "Having David, a world renowned expert on conceptual and exploration target modeling for gold deposits, involved with our team will further establish Castle Peak as a significant player in the acquisition, exploration and development of early stage projects in the prolific Ashanti Belt of Ghana."
