Western Uranium Appoints Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Corporate Secretary and Grants Options
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/10/11 -- Western Uranium Corporation (TSX VENTURE: WUC) ('WUC' or the 'Company') is pleased to announce the appointment of Toby Mayo as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Tracy Hansen as Corporate Secretary.
Mr. Mayo was appointed Senior Financial Analyst of the Company on November 9, 2010. As previously announced, Mr. Mayo has fifteen years of comprehensive and varied experience in the mining and metals sector. He began his career with Rio Tinto as an Exploration Geologist. Prior to joining Western Uranium Corp., Mr. Mayo worked as a Senior Technical Advisor and Consultant at Ivanhoe Mines Ltd, and was more recently an Investment and Business Planning Consultant at Hatch in London, England.
Ms. Hansen is a securities paralegal with over 15 years of experience in providing regulatory and management services to public and private companies, primarily in mining and resource development. Ms. Hansen is the Corporate Secretary of Western Lithium USA Corporation. Prior to this she was Vice President, Operations at Nexvu Capital Corp, a boutique venture capital company, and Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Bell Copper Corporation. Ms. Hansen has worked with a number of exploration and development companies focused on uranium, copper, zinc and gold in Nevada, Canada and Mexico.
In connection with the appointment, Ms. Hansen was granted options to acquire 150,000 common shares of the Company at a price of C$1.10 per share, for a five year period.
Kevin Hisko, Partner at the Company's counsel McCullough O'Conner Irwin LLP, has resigned as Corporate Secretary effective March 8, 2011.
