Zinco Announces Signing of Drill Contract With Major Drilling for Continuation of Exploration Work on Its San Juan and Jesus Maria Prospects in the Cuale District, Jalisco VMS Project, Mexico
SURREY, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/10/11 -- Zinco Mining Corporation (TSX VENTURE: ZIM) (FRANKFURT: 61Z) is pleased to announce that it has signed a 1500 meter drill contract with Major Drilling de Mexico S.A. de C.V. to commence diamond core drilling on its mineral prospects in the Cuale volcanogenic massive sulfide (VMS) camp. The main objective of the program is to expand on significant reverse circulation drilling intercepts from two prospects, San Juan and Jesus Maria. From San Juan, Zinco's previous intercepts include:
I. ZIM9 with 85.7 meters of 185 g/t Ag, 1.5% Zn and 0.8% Pb,
II. ZIM3, collared 41 m east-northeast of ZIM9, with 108.1 meters of 58 g/t
Ag, 1.4% Zn and 0.7% Pb.
III. ZIM1, collared 135 m north-northeast of ZIM9, with 14.3 meters of 127
g/t Ag, 2.9% Zn and 0.9% Pb.
IV. ZIM5, collared 215 m north-northeast of ZIM9, with 25.5 meters of 72
g/t Ag, 0.4% Zn and 0.2% Pb.
From Jesus Maria, the 2008 campaign returned results of:
I. ZIM30 with 41.82 meters of 5% Zn, 1.4% Pb, 0.2% Cu and 14 g/t Ag,
II. ZIM19, collared 170 meters southwest of ZIM30, with 17.34 meters of
4.2% Zn, 1.6% Pb, 0.1% Cu and 5 g/t Ag,
III. ZIM16, collared 40 meters southwest of ZIM30, with 17.34 meters of 4.9%
Zn, 0.1% Pb, 0.2% Cu and 5 g/t Ag.
Plan maps and cross-sections of these results are on Zinco's website at http://www.zincomining.com/s/Mineralization.asp.
The two areas of interest are characterized by multiple intersections of VMS-style mineralization and have grades of economic interest, with zinc and silver dominating the polymetallic assemblage. Diamond drilling is being initiated at both sites to test for physical continuity of the mineralization identified by the earlier reverse circulation drilling program. The company has been active in camp preparation and drill pad preparation in anticipation of diamond drilling commencing in the near future.
