Aben Resources Yukon Exploration Update Construction of Summer Camp for Selwyn Recce Project, NWT

03.06.2011  |  Marketwire

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 06/03/11 -- Aben Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: ABN) (FRANKFURT: E2L) (the 'Company') is pleased to announce the mobilization and construction of a summer camp for its Selwyn Recce Project in the Northwest Territories (NWT). Also, exploration is slated to commence on the Company's Yukon projects with the Rusty Springs silver project planned to start by mid-June and the Justin, Hit and Rude Creek gold projects to follow. Aben has increased its budget to approximately $5 million for exploration this year in the Yukon and NWT.

Aben's NWT camp will be located on Willowhandle Lake, 190 kilometres southeast of the town of Norman Wells. The camp will service the Company's large scale Selwyn Recce Project that is comprised of the previously announced NWT Permits totaling 426,821 acres of highly prospective ground (see news release dated Feb. 14, 2011) as well as additional land currently being staked in the Yukon and NWT directly east of ATAC Resources' (TSX.V-ATC) Rau and Osiris gold zones. The area has garnered considerable attention recently with the discovery of Carlin-style mineralization in the Yukon at ATAC Resources' Osiris gold zone. Aben's permits and newly staked claims cover prospective targets with both Carlin-style stratigraphy and promising geochemical signatures. In addition to being prospective for the presence of Carlin-type gold deposits, the permits and claims have the potential to host carbonate and sedimentary-exhalative ('sedex') style silver-lead-zinc deposits as well as sediment-hosted copper deposits.

Field crews will be at the camp by June 7, 2011 and will begin a very large scale regional reconnaissance program that will include geological mapping, regional prospecting, geochemical surveys and geophysical surveys. Eighteen high priority targets have been identified to date which will form the focus of the project's 2011 exploration efforts. These targets were identified as a result of Aben's recently acquired proprietary database. All in all, this has allowed the Company to advance the Selwyn Recce Project by at least a year in terms of the time required to identify these targets.

The Company has been planning the work and exploration programs on its other Yukon projects which will commence over the next month with the Rusty Springs Project planned to start by mid-June and the Justin, Hit and Rude Creek Projects to follow. Aben is currently in the final planning stages for these aggressive exploration programs in the Yukon and will announce specific details of these work programs shortly.
