CONSOL Energy Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer William Lyons Inducted into Duquesne University's Century Club

Lyons, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, has been selected as one of the 2011 inductees into Duquesne University's Century Club of Distinguished Alumni.Established during the University's 100th anniversary in 1978 to honor the outstanding professional achievements, contributions to society, and service to the University and Community of its alumni, the Century Club has admitted only 310 of more than 95,000 university alumni since 1878 to its ranks.

As part of the Century Club induction celebration, inductees will meet with students and faculty from their school of studies, attend a University Convocation, and attend a dinner reception during which they will be formally installed as a Century Club honoree.
Mr. Lyons is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. A 1970 graduate cum laude of Duquesne University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, he served two years of active duty assignment as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force before beginning his professional career. In 1978, he obtained a Master of Science degree in accounting from Duquesne University.
Lyons began his career with CONSOL Energy in 1976 as an accountant and served in various positions in the Controller's Department until his election in 1995 as vice president and controller. The CONSOL Energy board of directors elected him senior vice president and chief financial officer in December, 2000.
In 2002, he was given Duquesne University's A.J. Palumbo School of Business Administration/John F. Donahue Graduate School of Business Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award. In 2004, he was named an A.J. Palumbo School of Business Administration Distinguished Accounting Alumnus also from Duquesne University.
Lyons is a member of numerous professional organizations: the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Accountants; the Institute of Management Accountants; the American Accounting Association; and Beta Gamma Sigma, an honor society for AACSB accredited business programs. He serves on the Duquesne University Accounting Advisory Board, and is a member of the Finance Council of Holy Child parish.
