Alcoa Named to Carbon Performance and Carbon Disclosure Leadership Indexes
Alcoa (NYSE:AA) today announced that it has been recognized by the
Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for reducing emissions and mitigating
the risks of climate change as well as for its approach to the
disclosure of climate change information. CDP featured Alcoa on both its
Carbon Performance Leadership Index and the Carbon Disclosure Leadership
Index.
The CDP represents 551 institutional investors with $71 trillion in
assets. The Carbon Performance Leadership Index is composed of 11
companies from the Standard & Poor′s (S&P) 500 Index while the Carbon
Disclosure Leadership Index consists of 55 companies from the S&P 500
Index.

The Carbon Performance Leadership Index highlights those companies
within the S&P 500 Index that have demonstrated a strong commitment to
strategy, governance, stakeholder communications and emissions
reductions in their CDP responses. The Carbon Disclosure Leadership
Index is a key component of CDP′s annual S&P 500 report, and highlights
the constituent companies within the S&P 500 Index that have displayed
the most professional approach to corporate governance regarding climate
change information disclosure practices.
